In each session, you'll learn about evidence-based treatments, anti-inflammatory nutrition, and other topics related to living with pain. These educational components are paired with experiential practices that guide you to cultivate ease and stability in your body and mind. The goal is to provide you with a holistic toolkit that you can adapt to your individual needs, empowering you to actively participate in your healing journey.

    Is LWCP right for me?

This group is a good fit for anyone who lives with chronic pain, whether it’s from a specific diagnosis like fibromyalgia, arthritis, or neuropathy, or from the long-term effects of an injury or trauma. If you are looking for a comprehensive, holistic approach to managing your pain, this group may be a good fit. Speak with your Osher provider to discuss whether this group aligns with your needs and goals.

Is LWCP physically demanding? I have chronic pain and/or limited mobility.

LWCP is designed to be accessible to individuals with varying physical abilities. The mindful movement practices in LWCP are gentle and slow. The focus is on awareness of movement and sensations, rather than achieving a specific physical outcome. We prioritize adaptations and modifications to ensure that you can participate comfortably. Our facilitators are experienced in working with individuals with chronic pain and will provide guidance on adapting practices to ensure your comfort and safety.

Can LWCP work alongside other pain management strategies or medical treatments?

LWCP is designed to complement, not replace, existing pain management strategies and medical treatments. The skills you learn in the group—such as mind-body practices, anti-inflammatory nutrition, and cognitive strategies—can enhance the effectiveness of your existing therapies and support your overall healing journey. By giving you practical tools to use in your daily life, the group empowers you to take an active role in managing your pain and improving your well-being.

What types of home practice opportunities are recommended to get the most out of LWCP?

To get the most out of LWCP, consistent engagement with the material at home is essential. Participants are encouraged to practice the mind-body skills learned in class, read the content in their digital booklet, and complete brief writing assignments. This consistent effort between sessions helps to integrate the new tools, empowering you to cultivate ease and stability in your daily life.
